LIFTING THE STANDARD ON HOME CARE

Today's philosophy for prescribed medical lifting equipment is the "least costly alternative", the industry standard for current patient lifting devices is a floor based manually operated lift, often times called a Patient Hoyer Lift.

When it comes to individual care within the household, a bedroom is most often chosen as the primary care setting. Average room size is limited, usually less than 12' by 12' in total.

Also included in these areas are typically a bed and multiple pieces of furniture. As a result, the amount of space needed to properly maneuver the standard manual floor lift is extremely limited at best.

In many circumstances, caregivers do not possess the physical ability to position, operate and move this equipment, by themselves, especially, after a patient has been placed within the lift.

Using a floor based system to ambulate and reposition our loved ones, both caregivers and patients are at risk of injury or a deterioration of other health issues. Bed sores, respiratory function and digestive system function for patients may be undermined without proper repositioning and ambulating. This situation can result in a possible readmission to an institutional setting, with a great deal of personal suffering and additional costs.

To improve upon this less than ideal situation, Traxx Mobility System's Titan 500 Patient Lift System was created to provide an affordable, comfortable and secure electric lift, while being a safe and easy to operate lift for the caregiver. This is not only a wonderful alternative to the floor-based patient lift but also more affordable than a ceiling lift system.
